15/16 September 2001.
Premier Red sparkle set made
sometime before 1967.
Dave Seville (Left)(Old Drummers Club)
with `Sir`Allan Buckley (Organiser)
Dave, Geoff Nicholls (Drum Book author), me and a few Vistalites.
Len Howe (Classic Drums), Richard Thomas, me and Mrs Thomas.
Gary Allcock (Drummer, collector, dealer and all round good guy)
The WMP Premier set belonged to UK session drummer Ronnie Verrell. Ronnie was
the real drummer behind Animal in The Muppets and he used this set for the famous
duet/duel with Buddy Rich.
This Premier snare drum should not exist. It has a Royal Ace snare
mechanism, which was discontinued in 1966 but the Oyster finnish is
from 1968.
The Above photos were taken by myself, those below are by Mike Ellis and David McCready.
Part of `Sir` Allan`s collection of 300 snare drums.
More of `Sir` Allan`s snare drums. The sets along the top are from his collection
as well, there are 120 of them! Note the Silver sparkle Rogers set on the floor left
of center, it has a 26 inch bass drum.
Three 1930`s sets. I love the bass drum heads.
DrumDMC with a 1950`s Silver sparkle Olympic snare drum.
Don`t know much about Rogers. Nice set. The set on the left looks interesting as well.
